Workspace – From Broadchoice
Coming from the Broadchoice’s genius team is a collaboration tools service that utilize Adobe AIR as their main workframe, Workspace.
Broadchoice Workspace allows you to create projects, invite team members, group chat, share files, notes, tasks, and bookmarks. Collaborate with co-workers, partners, or consultants on engineering projects, sales opportunities, financial deals, and more. Because Workspace is fully hosted, there is no lengthy deployment processes or large setup fees.
I. Landing Page
Well, this is not exactly the landing page. Make sure you already installed Adobe AIR on your platform before you decided to download Broadchoice Workspace.
What’s Good:
- 2 option for downloading, an automated one or the manual one.
What’s Bad:
- I can’t find any information for the pricing plan
II. Features
What’s Good:
- Live Chat with a pop-up notification, just think of Adium or Digsby, you’ll get what I mean (Max 255 Characters)
- 1 GB Space for Free Edition
- Fast,uncluttered interface
- Easy to use task management
- Notes taking and Bookmark for sources available on the net
- Integration with either Salesforce or SugarCRM
What’s Bad:
- In the Free edition you have no control for your own notes, task or anything. Everyone could edit or delete anything they like. (But this is not a problem for some, for example : Anggackt team :P )
- No category or folder for your notes, files, bookmark and task
- Assigning a task is kind of weird since there’s no “For:” field, it’s “Owner” in Broadchoice Workspace.
- No event calendar, but this could be replaced with a note
- The editor capability for writing is limited
III. Verdict
Broadchoice Workspace is simply amazing. All of our team loves this application and we do find many many use for it. Our first objective is just to review this one, until we find how easy to use and no hiccup this desktop+web application is and thus we migrate from our previous collaboration tools to this one.
I just hope that Broadchoice Workspace free edition is not time limited since the Broadchoice Workspace page lack any information for the pricing plan.
