Splush – Feeds Widget

October 27th, 2009 — 9:01am | Author : Anangga Pratama

Splush (short for Syndication Plug and Push) enables editors to share with their audience, real-time updated content from partners, friends or favorites information sources. A dynamic blogroll and multimedia access (videos and sounds can be read directly on the widget) make RSS Feeds accessible to all without any technical constraints.

I. Landing Page

Splush - Landing Page

A nicely designed landing page that easily explained what Splush is in a graphical way. Let’s start registering manually first to Splush.

II. Dashboard

Splush - Dashboard

The dashboard is simple yet easy to understand. One thing that I noted here is the language at the button in My Widgets area, although I chose English as my language, the button keeps on France, but that’s minor.

Remember that you could also monetize your widget, but that’s another story, I won’t review about it at this moment.

III. Features

I really like the widget creation screen since all you have to do is just to filled out your website URL and click the refresh-like button to filled out other fields automatically using your website meta. You could edit it again if you would like though. What’s left next is to add your feeds (you could add more than one feed),configure your widget appearance and get the code. Here’s the result.

One minus point for Splush is they don’t provide any option to change how many feed stories displayed on the widget.

IV. Verdict

A very nice feed widget generator indeed. Splush accordion effect really gives some touch to your website overall design. And it’s all for free , well.. unless you decided to monetize your widget, but that’s another story for another review.
