Heapr – Fast Search
Heapr is a search engine that allows you to search from Google, Twitter,Wikipedia, Wolfram Alpha and Flicker all at once. Not only boasting an all at once features, Heapr claims that it is 38% faster than Google search itself due to the implemented real time search.
I. Landing Page
Simple and straight to the point. There’s also current trending topic from Twitter if you do want a fast access to see the tweet in it.
II. Dashboard

III. Features
Let’s try the most basic thing first, searching
It is indeed fast, faster than Google itself. Unfortunately the Twitter search only gives me the loading page without any sign of activity but Wolfram Alpha and Wikipedia search gives a fantastic fast result too.
Image searching goes into full throttle too with only less than one second to load from Google image search while it took a little bit longer to load from Flicker.
The same thing happened with the Video search which supported Youtube,Hulu and Vimeo. At first I thought it’s going to need at least 2-3 seconds to load the video search from Youtube with my internet connection, but with Heapr, I only need to wait around 0.83 second to see the search result.
Notice the download button for each search result ? Yes, it’s working flawlessly.
And this time, when I tried the sole Twitter search, it’s working flawlessly with 5 seconds interval for one Tweet update. And with a customizable setting on the work, Heapr’s Twitter search function is a fun to use.
If you prefer a simple searching method and faster with only Google as the based engine, use the lite search feature Heapr provided.
IV. Verdict
Although sometimes the Twitter search function doesn’t work as intended, Heapr is lightning fast, that’s it, simply lightning fast, and I love it.
And here are the coming soon features that makes me drool and can’t really wait for Heapr next release :
- Customizable layouts (for example, you can create a layout to stream Digg+Twitter+FriendFeed, a different layout to watch multiple YouTube videos side-by-side, etc…. you’ll only be limited by your imagination)
- Color themes
- Widgets
- Speed enhancements (oh my…)
