TubeRadio – Youtube For Music
Sometimes I want to manage various YouTube video where I could rename the files, keep a managed playlists, just like a media player with media library would be. It is now possible thanks to TubeRadio.
TubeRadio is the internet music video player. Think of it as iTunes meets YouTube meets Spotify. It’s absolutely free and there’s nothing to install.
I. Landing Page
I love the color, light blue and white combination is perfect to me. To start using the service you doesn’t have to register first, but as usual, registering gives you more option than unregistered users.
Registration is manual, so start filling out those fields. What I like about the registration page is the way they prevent spam by using a slider to confirm your registration.
II. Dashboard
Looks like iTunes but this will make sure that a higher percentage of users will find that the player is not that confusing since they already familiar with the interface.
You also could edit your profile from this page just by choosing profile from the menu. Please do note that currently TubeRadio only supported JPG image as your avatar.
III. Features
Let’s try by searching an artist name using the provided input box at the top of the player. Let’s try searching for Hangry & Angry that made their first US performance at Sakura-Con in Seattle in April 2009.
You could preview it using the thumbnail from videos just by hovering your mouse over the video titles.
Another nice feature is the ability to edit the video info to match your preferences just by clicking the gear button next to your video title.
You could also find the lyric and biography of the band for the video/music you are currently playing.
If you click the gear next to your playlist , you could also started sharing your playlist with various method, but what I like most is the features to share on either Facebook or Twitter.
Aww.. I wish the link share could preview the album art even though it is the default “No Album Art” one and the playlist name.
There are still a lot more features such as the playlist order with drag and drop, semi social networking and many many others that I haven’t got the time to test. You will just have to test it yourself to see this features packed WebWare.
IV. Verdict
A winning WebWare for sure. TubeRadio is now my main place to watch and keep my favorite videos managed with a very familiar interface. I even give a bold and underline to express how I loved TubeRadio :)
