GoAnimate.com is an entertainment website that enables the simple creation of unique computer animated stories, satires and sentiments that can be shared with the entire online community. The site offers simple to more advanced innovative features that provide users with a multitude of possibilities for customizing their animations.

I. Landing Page

Nothing to complain about the landing page, so let us just start registering to Go!Animate.

There’s no integrated method here, so you’ll have to do it manually for signing up process. Don’t forget to activate your account first.

II. Dashboard

The dashboard  have a button for integrating your Go!Animate with Facebook for Go!Animate activity newsfeed, this makes me wonder why don’t they provide a singing up through Facebook earlier for registration method ?

You could see GoPoints and GoBucks which indicated a Freemium type of service. There’s a friend list in a term of  “Fans” and a message box, another indication that Go!Animate could also serves a function as a specific social networking website.

III. Features

To start your animation making, pick one random channel  and after that just click “Create” to start the animation studio function. You will have to choose your cast for animation from several choices after that.

Now it’s all up to your own creativity, add a character, props,background,scene,movement,emotion and soundtrack. Once done, you could save your work and share it among your friends or network.

IV. Verdict

Go!Animate is a breakthrough web application, the features it offers is really amazing. Although they using a Freemium type of service, Go!Animate free library is more than enough to make you stay on your monitor screen directing your own animation.

Update :

I was contacted by the generous Michelle Wiley from Go!Animate  to test out their Create-a -Character feature. It will be free for your 1st created character and after that you have to use your Go!Point and/or Go!Bucks to create another character.

To start creating your own character, just click on the “Create” orange button and choose Character Creator.

You can choose from various template already available taken from public figures such as Kim Jong Il or Oprah. Or you could just randomize it or else, create your own character from scratch.

Creating your own character is extremely easy and just need a point and click using your mouse, a little bit adjustment here and there and voila, your own created character. You could test out various expressions made by the created character before deciding to save it.

My opinion for Go!Animate goes higher with this Character Creator feature. It is unbelievably fast to load and doesn’t take too long loading time between each change made to the character. I don’t know how those people at Go!Animate do that but it is fast, like playing with a desktop version of a character maker software. Big applause to Go!Animate and thank you for the generous offer to try out the feature :)
