LinkBump – Bump or Dump ?
Link Bump is social media in action. All of the front page content is determined by users like you. Once a new link is shared, it’s either bumped to the top or dumped into oblivion. You decide.
I. Landing Page
Dominated by red and white, Link Bump landing page is a breeze to load. I like the mascot , but I don’t really like how their bump it button looks like Digg button color a lot. Would be better if they make it in their own style, red maybe ?
There are no integrated registration option, so you have to manually register to fully start experiencing LinkBump.
II. Dashboard
LinkBump doesn’t provide any dashboard to their users, so there’s no way you could edit your profile currently.
III. Features
Let’s start submitting a new link
Very simple with no strings attached. Only 3 main category visible, which I like, less category means less confusion and cluttering.
You can start a discussion by commenting to the Link you just submitted or another link. Please remember that no HTML allowed in the comment box.
The main highlight of LinkBump is the dump or bump features. Users now have full capability of bumping a link so that it took the main page highlight, resulting to more views, or just dump it so that it will stay in the underground.
IV. Verdict
LinkBump could have a bright future if they managed to get as much user as they can. Adding a dashboard to manage profile is a must. Advance search with highlighted result and tagging a new submitted link could be another nice addition.
Please do note that LinkBump Tools will be officially launched around December 2009 with tools for your blog, Facebook and others. Until then, open up LinkBump, and start bumping or dumping the links.
