Meme – From Yahoo
Now I decided that this year is the year of Micro-blogging. After the Twitter bomb that officially turn micro blogging as the most prominent thing on earth (okay, I might be exaggerating a bit) , more and more micro blogging services become available everywhere.
And now, one of the big name, Yahoo, decided to enter the war too with its new creation, Meme.
Twitter – the bird, Onioning – the cow ? , Whispurr – the doodles and now Meme – the dog. Wait a second, the dog ? déjà vu ? Woofer, anyone ?
Anyway, Meme is still in alpha phase and there’s no registration available, so just fired up your email there, and just crossed your fingers.
So what’s new from Meme ?
- 2000 Characters
- Basic HTML codes support
- Post picture,video and audio directly from your Meme Dashboard
Pretty nifty huh ?
Meme’s dashboard interface is a total win. It is nicely designed, fast to load and serves its purpose nicely. To start Meme-ing, just click one of your targeted post, be it just text, picture, video or audio. Commenting system is also smooth.
I’ve only got one problem with the input text though
So how is it looks like ?
So, what do I think about Meme ? It is a nice service, offering rich text and blogging system as something different, My simple description for meme would be blog in micro-blog look-a-like environment.
I really don’t like the url (meme.yahoo.com/username), it is too long, and the way Meme displayed any comment for any memes in the dashboard, I prefer if they put any comment directly under the commented meme in dashboard, just what it looks like in the permalink for any meme. Oh and add an ability to mute someone whom you are following, to prevent spam memes.
